America might be running on Dunkin, but NBTA runs on Joe Donut this ride! Let's meet up at 10 am at the Joe Donut shop in Niles. Grab a beverage and a tempting tasty treat before our pedal off. Joe Donut is a spring addition just south of Harts Road off the North Branch trail! 3,500 square feet with 130 seats, breakfast lunch items and - of course - an array of donuts.
Pedal Off is at 11am (soft start) and we will first head to the Historic Wagner Farm and Glenview's Farmers Market. Arrive at your leisure and explore this gem off the trail on a Farmers Market Saturday! Wagner Farm is a welcoming “window” into farms and local history. Wagner Farm information center is a fun experience for all ages. Bike racks at the visitor center. Glenview Farmers Market (right across the street from the farm) is one of the largest and most eclectic in the area.
After we stock up on fresh produce we will head South towards Affy Tapple for yummy sweets. Jump inside for a super quick stop at the northwest side mecca of taffy apples. The shop will be open!
We will then stop by the Leaning Tower of Niles. Come prepared to enjoy a short talk, covering history, Touhy economic corridor, fun facts about Niles’ leaning tower and - of course - photo opportunities with Village of Niles Economic Development Director, Ross Klicker.
Our ride will end at one of our favorite places along the North Branch Trail, our long time partner Wildwood Tavern. Quench your thirst and celebrate another NBTA ride in the books. Back by popular demand for our ride’s last stop … we finish the NBTA ride with trademark Wildwood Tavern hospitality from 40 year veterans, Mark and Ellie Freeman. On trend culinary creations mix with old reliable favorites at the edge of the woods!
We kindly remind you to patronize the NBT Alliance business partners and show some love on Social Media. If you would like to volunteer at this or a future NBTA ride, we would love to hear from you!
